Publicis' Solid Update Won't Dispel AI Worries -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-14 19:52

1152 GMT - Publicis Groupe's first-quarter update looks reassuring, but investors are likely to remain concerned about the potential disruption from AI to advertising agencies, Bank of America analysts say in a research note. The French ad company reported organic net revenue growth of 4.5% for the first quarter, which is probably in line with what investors expected, according to Bank of America. An acceleration in the U.S. was reassuring after a surprise slowdown at the end of 2025, the analysts say. Still, investors remain worried on the potential deflationary impact of AI and the ramifications for agencies of a shift to AI agents, the analysts add, referring to systems that can handle tasks on behalf of humans. Shares rise 0.9%. (adria.calatayud@wsj.com)
