MT Newswires Live09:45

Hong Kong stocks were little changed at the open on Tuesday as uncertainty around the ongoing U.S.-Iran peace deal clouded investor sentiment.

The Hang Seng Index rose 0.1%, or 31.50 points, to 23,800.02, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index edged up 0.57 points to 7,915.31.

The United States on Monday granted Iran a 60-day sanctions waiver following the first round of talks under a recently reached peace agreement between the two countries.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance said discussions with Iranian officials in Switzerland had established a solid basis for a final peace accord, although Tehran disputed reports that negotiations had expanded to include its nuclear program.
