Hong Kong stocks edged higher on Wednesday as record gains on Wall Street and easing oil prices continued to support investor sentiment.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.2%, or 38.07 points, to 25,890.99, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 10.74 points, to 8,585.00.
Wall Street extended its rally overnight, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 closing at fresh record highs after strong corporate earnings and upbeat forecasts reinforced confidence in the economic outlook.
Falling oil prices also lifted sentiment after U.S. officials reported progress in talks aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
