President Donald Trump on August 14 endorsed Saritha Komatireddy, a former federal prosecutor and Harvard Law School graduate, to be the next Attorney General of New York, calling her an "America First Patriot" and sharply criticizing incumbent Letitia James.
In a post on X, Trump described New York as having "gone to HELL" under Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General James, whom he called "the Most Corrupt Attorney General in the Country." He noted that James ran for governor and received less than 1% of the vote before quitting. Trump accused James of leading a "WITCH HUNT" against him while violent crime rises in New York.
Trump highlighted Komatireddy's credentials as a former federal prosecutor, chief of staff of the Drug Enforcement Administration, law clerk for then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh, and a Harvard Law graduate with honors. He said she has "the Courage and Wisdom to deliver strong results" for New York City and State.
He also mentioned that Komatireddy is strongly supported by "the Greatest MAGA Warriors in New York," including his friend and Republican nominee for governor, Bruce Blakeman.
"On the other hand, as your next Attorney General, Saritha Komatireddy will fight tirelessly to Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Grow our Economy, Champion our Law Enforcement and First Responders, Support our Military/Veterans, Advance Election Integrity, Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Uphold our Constitution, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment," Trump wrote. "Vote against the Most Corrupt Attorney General in the Country, Peekaboo James — Vote for Saritha Komatireddy, who has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Attorney General of New York. SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!"
