President Donald Trump on August 14 issued a lengthy endorsement of Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK), praising his record and warning voters about a Democratic attempt to confuse the ballot.
Trump described Sullivan as a “GREAT man” who has “ALWAYS delivered for Alaska,” noting that he won the state by large margins in 2016, 2020, and 2024. The president highlighted Sullivan’s previous roles as Alaska State Attorney General and Commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources, and credited himself with securing 11 new Arctic Security Cutter Icebreakers—the first such ships purchased in over 40 years—with Sullivan’s support.
Trump accused “Crooked, Radical Left Dumocrats” of fielding another candidate also named Dan Sullivan to “take Votes away from our Great Senator.” He urged Alaskans to vote for the incumbent, explicitly listing the ballot name: “SULLIVAN, DAN S. — REGISTERED REPUBLICAN/INCUMBENT.” The president gave his “Complete and Total Endorsement” for Sullivan’s reelection, saying “HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN.”
The endorsement comes ahead of Alaska’s primary election on August 18, where Sullivan faces several challengers.
