Manuka Resources (ASX:MKR, NZE:MKR) restarted gold production at its Wonawinta processing facility in New South Wales, marking the company's return to precious metals production, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
The company said Mt Boppy gold ore will be processed, with more than 50,000 tonnes stockpiled at Wonawinta and targeting between 125,000 and 140,000 tonnes to be processed over the next three months, following the completion of an extensive plant recommissioning program.
Transition to silver production is targeted for the fourth quarter, following installation and commissioning of a new de-slime circuit and associated upgrades, with both gold and silver ores to be fed simultaneously through the plant once silver production begins, the filing added.
Manuka's ASX shares rose almost 3% in recent Friday trade, while its shares in the New Zealand bourse rose past 5%.
