US, Canada 'Very Close' To Trade Deal, Ottawa Says

The US and Canada are "very close" to a final trade deal after Canadian negotiator Dominic LeBlanc met with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, AFP reported Thursday.
LeBlanc said both sides continue to make progress and will keep working until an agreement is reached, AFP said. President Donald Trump delayed a new round of 50% tariffs on Canadian imports by 72 hours as a deal appeared imminent, the report said.
Details of the prospective agreement remain unclear, while Canada's provinces could be asked to restock US wine and liquor products removed in retaliation for US tariffs, AFP said.
