Ford's August Sales Weighed Down by Electrified Vehicle, SUV Declines

Ford Motor sales fell again in August, dragged down by further declines in electrified vehicles and SUVs.
Total vehicle sales slid 10.3% to 170,681 in August, driven by a 41.5% drop in electrified-vehicle sales and a 4.6% decline in sales of internal combustion vehicles.
By type, SUVs had the biggest slowdown, with sales falling 23.3%. Car sales increased 12.7% and truck sales fell less than 1%.
By brand, the Ford Escape and Ford Mustang Mach-E weighed on SUV sales the most, dropping 88.2% and 72.5%, respectively.
