GoPro shares surged nearly 70% in premarket trading Tuesday after YouTube creator Mark Fischbach acquired an 8.5% stake in the company, Bloomberg reported.

Fischbach, known in YouTube as Markiplier, said he views GoPro as "undervalued" and wants to support the company's growth, particularly through its new Mission 1 Pro ILS interchangeable-lens camera aimed at the cinema market, according to the report.
With this acquisition, Fischbach became the largest individual shareholder of the camera company, the report said.
GoPro did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
