President Donald Trump posted on social media on September 15, accusing the Biden administration and the FBI of failing to properly handle the assassination attempt against him in Butler, Pennsylvania, and claiming that newly discovered evidence proves the attack was a plot orchestrated by Democrats.
"Everybody knows the Crooked Joe Biden FBI didn't do what they should have with respect to the Lunatic who shot me in Butler, PA," Trump wrote, adding that by the time he took office on January 20, "most of the information was missing, altered, corrupted, or gone." He said new information was just found and questioned why it wasn't seen long ago. Trump called the incident "a Democrat Plot, to get me out of the Election, that failed" and directed criticism at FBI Director Christopher Wray, saying "Dirty Cop Christopher Wray should pay a price." The post ended with the slogan "GOD BLESS AMERICA — MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
