Equinox Gold anticipates a strong end to the year after the acquisition of Orla Mining positioned it as one of the largest pure-play gold producers in North America.
The Canadian miner said it is on track to hit its 2026 production target of between 870,000 and 920,000 ounces. That would be the equivalent of roughly 1.1 million ounces based on a full 12-month contribution from Orla's operations.
Production in the third quarter hit 237,000 ounces and gold sales reached 248,484 ounces thanks in part to two months of attributable production from Orla's Musselwhite mine in Canada and Camino Rojo in Mexico. That compares with 176,836 ounces of gold produced and sales of 177,959 ounces in the second quarter.
Equinox and Orla finalized their merger at the end of July.
Equinox said it ended the latest quarter with $527 million in cash and total available liquidity of $1.2 billion.
The company's shares were down 3.4% at C$15.77 in morning trading, for a year-to-date drop of 18%.
