Six Flags Bonds, Stock Sink on Safety Scare

Dow Jones10-16

Six Flags' corporate bonds and stock tumbled Thursday, following the amusement-park operator's closure of multiple rides after a man died and several others were injured aboard one of its roller coasters.

One of Six Flags' bonds traded at 83 cents on the dollar for a roughly 12% yield on Thursday, down from around 90 cents earlier in the week, according to a buyside trader. The company's stock sank 3.2% to $8.66 for a market capitalization of $883 million.

Six Flags had already been struggling to increase attendance and revenue since its merger with rival theme-park operator Cedar Fair in 2024.
