Indofood Agri Resources (SGX:5JS) unit Salim Ivomas Pratama said forest and land fires in Indonesia have had no material impact on its business activities or continuity to date, according to its response to the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Thursday.
The company said its plantations span Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi. It enforces a zero-burning policy, monitors hotspots using satellite data from NOAA and NASA, and cross-checks them against its concession maps to identify and address potential fires.
Salim Ivomas also equips its plantations with firefighting vehicles and equipment, conducts regular fire-prevention and emergency-response training. It also uses mechanical land clearing for unproductive plantation areas, the filing said.
