Stellantis's Revived Citroen 2CV Could Become an Icon

Dow Jones10-13

1249 GMT - Stellantis has unveiled a Citroen 2CV concept car that has the potential to be an icon like the Fiat 500 or the Polo ID, J.P. Morgan analysts write. "On rare occasions you see a car that is going to sell a lot of units and has not yet been introduced to the market," the bank says. At Stellantis, this will clearly be the Citroen 2CV and its light commercial vehicle version, according to the analysts. The first model starts at 15,000 euros and launches in 2028. Stellantis could see earnings rise as it benefits from purchasing cost savings next year, but with the company's cash burn and strategic reset in Europe, J.P. Morgan says it understands why the market is not yet willing to pay a higher multiple. Shares fall 1.4%.
