Singapore Shares Gain on Easing Oil Prices

MT Newswires10-21

Singapore shares opened higher on Wednesday, as sentiment was boosted by easing oil prices on hopes of progress toward a resolution between the US and Iran.

The Straits Times Index edged up 25.04 points, or 0.46%, to 5,429.06.

Media reports said a compromise proposal backed by the US and preliminarily accepted by Iran has raised hopes of easing tensions in the Middle East.
