Huawei Technologies has secured a seven-year offshore yuan-denominated syndicated loan worth 15 billion yuan from six Chinese banks, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing a person familiar with the matter.
Bank of China (HKG:3988, SHA:601988), China Construction Bank (HKG:0939, SHA:601939), and Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (HKG:1398, SHA:601398) were among the participating lenders. The telecommunications equipment manufacturer plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes and working capital, according to the report.
The financing marks Huawei's first offshore syndicated loan since 2020, when it raised HK$11.8 billion, the report said, citing Bloomberg-compiled data.
Huawei, BOC, CCB and ICBC did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
