Coca-Cola's (KO) latest results should be viewed favorably despite elevated expectations, as stronger-than-expected organic sales growth and margins drove an earnings beat and the company raised its full-year 2026 guidance, UBS Securities said.
The investment firm said that the stock needed a very strong quarter to trade higher given its year-to-date outperformance and valuation well above historical averages. The company's initial 2027 currency outlook, which implies a slight bottom-line headwind, was better than feared and should give investors confidence that Street estimates are achievable.
The bigger question is the implied Q4 outlook, which suggests a more challenged top-line backdrop, though UBS said in a Tuesday note that the "at least" language in guidance is open to interpretation.
Coca-Cola raised its 2026 guidance, now calling for organic sales growth of at least 5% and adjusted EPS growth of at least 11%. Q3 organic sales growth was 7%, with stronger concentrate shipments the main driver.
UBS maintained its buy rating on the stock and a $104 price target.
