Palantir Will Struggle to Maintain Rapid Growth

Dow Jones11-03 18:04

1004 GMT - Palantir will likely struggle to maintain its fast-paced revenue growth, as investors compare fourth-quarter earnings to a boom at the same time last year, Jefferies's Brent Thill writes. Momentum in the software and defense contractor's U.S., business continued, with revenues more than doubling on-year in the third quarter. Government contracts boosted growth acceleration, but seasonality was a factor, the analyst says. Palantir shares are expensive, putting the company's growth acceleration under increased scrutiny, Thill says. "We believe the debate is increasingly about sustaining acceleration against a larger base, rather than whether underlying demand remains strong," Thill says. Palantir shares fall 6.5% premarket.
