With third-quarter earnings on deck, typical seasonal worries and what most likely will be another 75-basis-point increase in the federal funds rate, the analysts at Goldman Sachs are urging investors to avoid investing in the indexes and focus on single stocks for alpha generation.

In a new research report targeted toward options trading going forward this fall, Goldman Sachs stresses that volatility could jump sharply in October. The analysts had this to say when discussing why:

We expect volatility to increase over the next month, driven by a seasonal pickup in investor uncertainty, significant monetary policy catalysts, including monthly inflation metrics and upcoming single stock catalysts, including analyst days. On average, over the past 94 years, S&P 500 volatility has increased 29% from August to October. While some consider it a coincidence that major market corrections have occurred in October, we believe performance pressures for company managements (to meet full year expectations) and investors (final earnings catalysts for their performance year) exacerbate shifts in investor sentiment at this time of year.

Given those concerns, we screened the firm’s Conviction List of top stock picks for good ideas for what could be a very dangerous stretch to what already has been a lousy year for investors. This week’s consumer price index numbers all but confirmed that we are in for the aforementioned 75-basis-point increase in the federal funds rate next week, so safe dividend-paying picks are the way to go for now. That's definitely the case with the nobility of dividend stocks -- Dividend Aristocrats. These members of the S&P 500 have increased their dividends for at least 25 consecutive years. But they aren't always the biggest winners for investors.Over the past three-year, five-year, and 10-year periods, the S&P 500 has outperformed Dividend Aristocrats. However, there are some great dividend payers that look especially promising over the long term. Here are three Dividend Aristocrats to buy that could beat the market over the next 10 years.1. AbbVieAbbVie isn't just a Dividend Aristocrat; it's also a Dividend King. The company's track record of 50 consecutive years of dividend increases puts it in that exclusive group. The big drugmaker's attractive dividend yield of nearly 4.2% definitely boosts its total returns. AbbVie hasn't depended only on its dividends to reward investors in recent years, though. The stock has trounced the broader market and continues to do so, so far in 2022.You might think that the loss of exclusivity for Humira next year could put AbbVie at a disadvantage. There's no question that declining sales for its top-selling drug will negatively impact the company. However, AbbVie expects that newer autoimmune-disease drugs Rinvoq and Skyrizi will generate combined peak sales that eclipse Humira's peak sales. The company looks for solid growth throughout this decade after taking an expected temporary hit in 2023. With AbbVie's shares trading below 9.8 times expected earnings, this stock could easily be a market-beater over the next 10 years.2. Air Products & ChemicalsAir Products & Chemicals has increased its dividend for 40 consecutive years. Its dividend yield of nearly 2.5% is well above the average S&P 500 yield of a little under 1.5%.Even with this advantage, Air Products hasn't always been able to deliver a higher total return than the S&P 500. So far this year, though, the stock is narrowly outperforming the key market index.Air Products' leadership in producing industrial gases should enable it to generate stronger earnings growth than the average S&P 500 member going forward. The company's adjusted earnings per share (EPS) have increased by a compound annual growth rate of 11% since 2014. Air Products looks for adjusted EPS growth of 13% to 15% this year.Arguably the most promising growth area for Air Products is in producing green hydrogen (made from renewable energy) and blue hydrogen (made from natural gas using carbon capture). The company already ranks as the largest hydrogen producer in the world and expects to be the leader in green and blue hydrogen in the future.3. Lowe'sLowe's isn't far away from becoming a Dividend King. The home improvement retailer has increased its dividend for 48 consecutive years. Its dividend yield currently tops 2%.After soaring in 2020 and 2021, Lowe's shares have plunged more than 20% year to date. Investors have been concerned about the negative impacts of inflation and the possibility of a recession on the company. However, Lowe's CEO Marvin Ellison thinks that higher interest rates could actually work in his company's favor. Ellison said in Lowe's second-quarter conference call, \"As low housing supply and high interest rates make moving less desirable, homeowners are motivated to invest in their current homes to fit their needs.\"Another factor could also help Lowe's over the next 10 years and beyond. More than 50% of U.S. homes are now over 40 years old. Houses built in the early years of this century at the peak of the housing boom are beginning to hit the 20-year mark. As a result, spending on home improvement is likely to increase throughout the rest of this decade. Lowe's stands to be a key beneficiary of this trend.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"APD":0.9,"LOW":0.9,"ABBV":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2440,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9931952332,"gmtCreate":1662388314626,"gmtModify":1676537050201,"author":{"id":"3574038201928781","authorId":"3574038201928781","name":"Birdnest","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bed1c01074b674ae6b5cef94449eb9c3","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574038201928781","idStr":"3574038201928781"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":5,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9931952332","repostId":"1106271066","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1106271066","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1662388059,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1106271066?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-09-05 22:27","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Here’s What to Expect Ahead of NIO’s Q2 Earnings Results","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1106271066","media":"TipRanks","summary":"Story HighlightsNIO is unlikely to report an earnings beat in the second quarter of 2022 as its resu","content":"
\n
Story HighlightsNIO is unlikely to report an earnings beat in the second quarter of 2022 as its results might reflect the impact of a sequential decline in vehicle deliveries, a surge in raw materials...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"lsy1606183248679","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; (NYSE:NIO) is slated to report its results for the second quarter of 2022 on September 7, before the market opens. Despite better-than-projected vehicle deliveries, the chances of this Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker beating earnings estimates in the quarter look slim. The $2.6-billion company is one of the leading players in the global electric vehicle market. Its premium vehicle offerings include smart electric SUVs (ES8 and ES6), smart electric coupe SUVs (EC6), and smart electric sedans (ET7).NIO reported narrower-than-expected losses in three of the last four quarters while posting wider losses in one quarter. For the to-be-reported quarter, the consensus estimate for the company’s bottom line is a $0.16 loss per American Depository Shares (ADS). The consensus estimate for revenues stands at $1.4 billion. In the first quarter of 2022, the company reported a $0.13 per ADS loss, and its revenues were $1.56 billion.Factors Influencing NIO’s Q2 ResultsOver the past few quarters, NIO has benefited from its technological expertise and focus on innovation. So far this year, the company has upgraded its ES8, EC6, and ES6 models with digital cockpit hardware. Further, it launched NIO ES7, which embraces NIO Technology 2.0. Benefits from product introductions might reflect in the company’s second quarter 2022 results. However, production and demand restrictions due to the impacts of the pandemic in some cities of China and existing supply-chain bottlenecks might have been headwinds in the second quarter.Notably, NIO delivered 25,059 vehicles in the second quarter of 2022. Though this number surpasses the company’s expectation of 23,000 to 25,000 deliveries in the second quarter, it falls 2.8% behind the first quarter’s tally of 25,768 vehicles. It is worth mentioning that the company’s sequential story could be underpinned by its website traffic trend. According to TipRanks’ Website Traffic tool, the total estimated visits to the company’s website decreased 17.7% sequentially in the second quarter of 2022.For the second quarter, the company forecasts revenues to be within the $1.473-$1.591 billion range. Also, the high costs of chips, raw materials, and batteries used in the production of electric vehicles might have hurt margins and profitability. Adjustments to the prices of products might have been a support. Is NIO Stock a Buy, Sell or Hold?Despite the concerns discussed above, prospective investors could find NIO stock attractive based on its solid long-term prospects. On TipRanks, analysts are unanimously optimistic about NIO stock, which warrants a Strong Buy consensus rating based on 11 Buys. Also, NIO’s average price target of $32.44 suggests 82.97% upside potential from the current level. Shares of NIO are down 47% year-to-date.In June 2022, the company’s Founder, Chairman, and CEO, William Bin Li, opined that the company was making “decisive investments in new products, technologies, and businesses.” Also, it is working to optimize its “cost structure, improve operating efficiency and create long-term value for shareholders.”","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NIO":0.9,"NIO.SI":0.9,"09866":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3724,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9992392754,"gmtCreate":1661260763780,"gmtModify":1676536484150,"author":{"id":"3574038201928781","authorId":"3574038201928781","name":"Birdnest","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bed1c01074b674ae6b5cef94449eb9c3","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574038201928781","idStr":"3574038201928781"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9992392754","repostId":"1180437058","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1180437058","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1661259825,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1180437058?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-08-23 21:03","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Wedbush Still Negative on AMC Shares, but Sees Company \"Well Positioned\"","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1180437058","media":"Seeking Alpha","summary":"Wedbush updated its model on AMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC) Tuesday following the trading of AMC Prefe","content":"

Wedbush updated its model on AMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC) Tuesday following the trading of AMC Preferred Equity (BOIN:APE).

Marti157900

Analyst Alicia Reese keeps her Underperform rating on AMC and lowered the price target to $2 from $4 given the stock-split effect as APE started trading.

But Reese also said that Cineworld's (OTCPK:CNNWF) (OTCPK:CNWGY) problems are more company specific and AMC has "plenty of cash" to weather a two-month slump in content production and is "well-positioned for a strong Q4:22 and 2023."

"AMC has gained market share vs. its pre-pandemic average on an improved footprint, and as some competitors have delayed theater upgrades," Reese wrote in a note. AMC is pre-authorized to issue up to 4.5 billion additional preferred shares of APE to raise cash.\"\"We expect AMC to wait for APE shares to stabilize with AMC, then issue a portion of its authorized APE shares for cash to pay down the majority of its outstanding debt,\" Reese said. \"We note that at the August 22 closing price of $6, AMC would have to issue over 900 million shares of APE to repay its entire debt balance.\"","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AMC":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2487,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9996290090,"gmtCreate":1661172321811,"gmtModify":1676536466299,"author":{"id":"3574038201928781","authorId":"3574038201928781","name":"Birdnest","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bed1c01074b674ae6b5cef94449eb9c3","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574038201928781","idStr":"3574038201928781"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9996290090","repostId":"1150418859","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1150418859","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1661171896,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1150418859?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-08-22 20:38","market":"us","language":"en","title":"RBC Capital Cut DocuSign From $80 to $65|Price Target Changes","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1150418859","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Telsey Advisory Group raised the price target on Dollar General Corporation from $260 to $280. Let’s take a look at what’s driving the stock price movements.Shares of electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Nio (NIO) have recently been on a roller coaster ride. On one hand, growth in deliveries is pushing up the stock; on the other hand, the global recession is punching down on the stock.Though shares now trade at a third of their all-time highs of $60, as seen early last year, they have recovered in the past two months from their 52-week lows of $11.67 and are now trading at around $20.The Good News for NIONIO shares took a downward spiral due to strict COVID-19 lockdowns in Shanghai. However, now, with the easing of the lockdown situation and the resulting resumption of production, shares have bounced back. For June, NIO reported a whopping 60% year-over-year jump in deliveries to 12,961. Further, sequentially, deliveries posted a record 84.5% growth compared to only 7,024 reported in May.Additionally, EV stocks got some push from the news that the Chinese government plans to support EV makers in China by providing subsidies and tax breaks. The Bad News for NIOEV stocks took a beating due to impending fears of a global recession as well as higher interest rates.Investors were concerned that Nio may be in need of additional capital like its peers, and may resort to stock offerings that could dilute the value of the shares. In late June, the stock took a massive hit after the release of a hostile report from Grizzly Research LLC, which accused the company of inflating its revenues and profits. In response, Nio stated that the report was misleading and inaccurate. Nio committed to creating an independent committee to investigate the concerns raised in the report.Analysts Are Bullish about NIOOverall, the stock has a Strong Buy consensus rating based on 10 unanimous Buys. The average Nio price target of $33.66 implies 66.63% upside potential from current levels.High Smart Score for NioNIO scores a 9 out of 10 on TipRanks’ Smart Score rating system, indicating that the stock has strong potential to outperform market expectations.Concluding ThoughtsNio deliveries number in June shows that perhaps, the worst is behind the company with the resumption of production in Shanghai, which suffered due to the COVID-19 situation and the long period of lockdowns earlier this year. The Chinese government support could act as a strong catalyst for the EV maker, assuming NIO management is able to put recent investors’ concerns to rest.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NIO.SI":0.9,"NIO":0.9,"09866":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2726,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9074145092,"gmtCreate":1658324592116,"gmtModify":1676536140757,"author":{"id":"3574038201928781","authorId":"3574038201928781","name":"Birdnest","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bed1c01074b674ae6b5cef94449eb9c3","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574038201928781","idStr":"3574038201928781"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9074145092","repostId":"1156532590","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1156532590","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1658324398,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1156532590?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-07-20 21:39","market":"us","language":"en","title":"EV Stocks Climbed in Morning Trading","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1156532590","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"EV stocks climbed in morning trading.
