London’s FTSE 100 edged up 0.2% and Germany’s DAX climbed 0.8%.

In Asia, the Shanghai Composite Index added 0.6% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng jumped 2.1%, powered by the relaxation of some Covid-19 curbs in China. Shanghai’s Vice Mayor Wu Qing said over the weekend that the authorities will loosen the conditions under which companies are able to resume work this week, and the city’s government laid out a 50-point plan for accelerating the economic recovery. The measures include tax cuts for businesses and subsidies for purchases of electric vehicles, the official Xinhua News Agency said.

Futures for the S&P 500 gained 1.1%. The U.S. stock market is due to reopen Tuesday, as is the Treasury market. Yields on government bonds retreated from their 2022 highs in the run-up to Friday’s close, helping lift stocks after a weekslong drubbing. The S&P 500 snapped a seven-week losing streak Friday and posted its biggest weekly gain since November.

Also driving the rally were data showing that U.S. consumers have kept boosting spending, and the expected easing of lockdowns in China that had slowed the world’s second biggest economy. Technical factors including the unwinding of short positions, or bets against the market, have helped stocks bounce back too, investors say.

Still, some money managers caution that the pickup in stocks and bond prices may be a short-lived blip in a longer-running retreat. They say most of the factors that have contributed to this year’s losses—the war in Ukraine, higher interest rates set by the Federal Reserve and a slowing economy—are still in place.

“We are about to see a bear-market rally—or are in the midst of it,” said Daniel Egger, chief investment officer at St. Gotthard Fund Management.

Mr. Egger said yields will begin to rise again and that forecasts for corporate earnings are too high, while profit margins are under pressure from high commodity prices. “This doesn’t bode well for stocks,” he said.

Shares of European luxury-goods companies that have tapped into Chinese demand benefited from the prospect of lighter-touch lockdowns. Hermès International gained 4.7% and Compagnie Financière Richemont rose 5%.L’Oréal,the French personal-care company, gained 3.5% and LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton added 3.9%.

Siemens, meanwhile, rose 3.2% after the German conglomerate said it had signed the largest order in its history with a contract for Egypt’s high-speed rail system worth as much as 8.1 billion euros, or $8.7 billion.

In commodity markets, benchmark Brent-crude futures rose 0.5% to $116.18 a barrel and touched their highest level in more than two months. Leaders of European Union members are due to meet Monday and Tuesday, after diplomats over the weekend failed to strike a deal on sanctions that would limit imports of Russian oil.

In China, companies that serve Chinese consumers registered some of the largest advances. London’s FTSE 100 edged up 0.2% and Germany’s DAX climbed 0.8%.In Asia, the Shanghai Composite Index added 0.6% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng jumped 2.1%, powered by the relaxation of some Covid-19 curbs in China. Shanghai’s Vice Mayor Wu Qing said over the weekend that the authorities will loosen the conditions under which companies are able to resume work this week, and the city’s government laid out a 50-point plan for accelerating the economic recovery. The measures include tax cuts for businesses and subsidies for purchases of electric vehicles, the official Xinhua News Agency said.Futures for the S&P 500 gained 1.1%. The U.S. stock market is due to reopen Tuesday, as is the Treasury market. Technical factors including the unwinding of short positions, or bets against the market, have helped stocks bounce back too, investors say.Still, some money managers caution that the pickup in stocks and bond prices may be a short-lived blip in a longer-running retreat. They say most of the factors that have contributed to this year’s losses—the war in Ukraine, higher interest rates set by the Federal Reserve and a slowing economy—are still in place.“We are about to see a bear-market rally—or are in the midst of it,” said Daniel Egger, chief investment officer at St. Gotthard Fund Management.Mr. Egger said yields will begin to rise again and that forecasts for corporate earnings are too high, while profit margins are under pressure from high commodity prices. “This doesn’t bode well for stocks,” he said.Shares of European luxury-goods companies that have tapped into Chinese demand benefited from the prospect of lighter-touch lockdowns. Hermès International gained 4.7% and Compagnie Financière Richemont rose 5%.L’Oréal,the French personal-care company, gained 3.5% and LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton added 3.9%.Siemens,meanwhile, rose 3.2% after the German conglomerate said it had signed the largest order in its history with a contract for Egypt’s high-speed rail system worth as much as 8.1 billion euros, or $8.7 billion. In commodity markets, benchmark Brent-crude futures rose 0.5% to $116.18 a barrel and touched their highest level in more than two months. Leaders of European Union members are due to meet Monday and Tuesday, after diplomats over the weekend failed to strike a deal on sanctions that would limit imports of Russian oil.In China, companies that serve Chinese consumers registered some of the largest advances. Hot-pot restaurant chain Haidilao International Holding Ltd., brewer China Resources Beer (Holdings) Co. and sportswear company Li Ning Co. Ltd., surged between 8.2% and 11% in Hong Kong.Chinese internet stocks built on a rally from late last week, as the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 3.9%. The food-delivery giant Meituan jumped 6.8%. That's why analysts who cover the tech giant are always speculating about how many iPhones it will be able to ship in a given year.In addition, of course, Apple also sells iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, AirPods, Apple TVs, and HomePods, among other devices. However, analyzing Apple's hardware sales only provides a superficial understanding of its sprawling business. To dive deeper, let's review three other facts about Apple that only the smartest investors will likely know.Image source: Apple.1. Apple operates a prisoner-taking ecosystemApple's services segment, which generated 18% of its revenue in the first half of its fiscal 2022, is arguably more important than any of its hardware businesses. This segment includes iCloud, Apple Pay, the App Store, and subscription-based digital media services like Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and Apple Fitness+. It also covers its Apple Care services. These are the building blocks of a prisoner-taking ecosystem that essentially locks in Apple's customers and reinforces their loyalty to iOS devices. Unlike Alphabet's Android OS, which lets its users easily switch between different brands of Android devices without losing their data, Apple's proprietary operating system and services steer its customers along a single upgrade path toward other iOS devices. As of March 26 -- the end of Apple's fiscal 2022 Q2 -- it had 825 million paid subscriptions across all of its services -- which represented a net addition of 165 million paid subscriptions over the prior 12 months. During the earnings conference call, CFO Luca Maestri said the company would \"continue to improve the breadth and the quality of our current service offerings while launching new services.\"2. It still enjoys unmatched loyaltyIn October, a survey by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners found that the loyalty rate for Apple's iPhone in the U.S. had surpassed 90% for the past three consecutive years. None of the Android leaders, including Samsung, came close to matching that.Apple's customer loyalty has also been supported by its growth as a global luxury brand. A few years ago, the Hurun Research Institute found that Apple had surpassed LVMH's Louis Vuitton, Hermès, and Richemont's Cartier as China's most coveted luxury brand. No other smartphone maker made that list. That cachet gives Apple a lot more pricing power than its industry peers.3. Its future will be augmentedApple plans to leverage the stickiness of its brand to launch new hardware products over the next few years. Its first target will likely be the nascent market for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) devices.Apple has reportedly been developing at least two AR/VR devices. The first one is rumored to be an AR/VR \"mixed reality\" headset that could arrive in 2023. This device could compete against Microsoft's HoloLens and Meta Platforms's Quest headsets. The second device could be a sleeker pair of AR smart glasses that might launch in 2024 or 2025. Meta, which launched its Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses last year, also has similar products in its pipeline.Image source: Getty Images.Apple has built a new operating system for these AR/VR devices called rOS, which includes its own native App Store. These plans strongly suggest that Apple will emerge as a major competitor to Meta in the expanding \"metaverse\" market.Lastly, Apple has also been developing an autonomous electric vehicle (EV) codenamed \"Project Titan.\" The latest rumors suggest it could launch between 2024 and 2028, but not much else is known about the vehicle yet. If Apple actually launches a luxury EV, it could spell trouble for market leaders like Tesla and newcomers like Lucid. Is Apple's stock still worth buying today? For Apple, the year-over-year comparisons it has ahead will be tough, as last year, its sales were notably boosted by people upgrading to 5G devices. And like companies all across the economy, it's also grappling with ongoing supply chain challenges. As such, investors should expect its growth to decelerate this year.Nevertheless, Apple still has plenty of irons in the fire, and I believe its stock is reasonably valued at 23 times forward earnings. Its shares might not blast off anytime soon -- especially as rising interest rates rattle the markets -- but it's still a solid investment for long-term investors.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2538,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9026654988,"gmtCreate":1653370849044,"gmtModify":1676535270053,"author":{"id":"3575199303759784","authorId":"3575199303759784","name":"Andaroo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/634c9b9f18158d4a4e497249bdbe8fd5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3575199303759784","idStr":"3575199303759784"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"AMC gme moon","listText":"AMC gme moon","text":"AMC gme moon","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9026654988","repostId":"2237261368","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2702,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9023288447,"gmtCreate":1652921616989,"gmtModify":1676535189138,"author":{"id":"3575199303759784","authorId":"3575199303759784","name":"Andaroo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/634c9b9f18158d4a4e497249bdbe8fd5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3575199303759784","idStr":"3575199303759784"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"AMC gme","listText":"AMC gme","text":"AMC gme","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9023288447","repostId":"2236879676","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3515,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9023288595,"gmtCreate":1652921611417,"gmtModify":1676535189123,"author":{"id":"3575199303759784","authorId":"3575199303759784","name":"Andaroo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/634c9b9f18158d4a4e497249bdbe8fd5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3575199303759784","idStr":"3575199303759784"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"AMC gme ","listText":"AMC gme ","text":"AMC gme","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9023288595","repostId":"2236879676","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2273,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9023394915,"gmtCreate":1652862658637,"gmtModify":1676535176610,"author":{"id":"3575199303759784","authorId":"3575199303759784","name":"Andaroo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/634c9b9f18158d4a4e497249bdbe8fd5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3575199303759784","idStr":"3575199303759784"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"To the moon","listText":"To the moon","text":"To the moon","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9023394915","repostId":"1150881544","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1150881544","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1652854388,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1150881544?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-05-18 14:13","market":"us","language":"en","title":"AMC Entertainment Could Make a Turnaround When FCF Turns Positive","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1150881544","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"AMC stock could rise 45% once the company generates a 5% FCF margin on 2023 forecast salesSource: He","content":"
\n
AMC stock could rise 45% once the company generates a 5% FCF margin on 2023 forecast salesSource: Helen89 / Shutterstock.comAMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC) produced less than stellar results on May 9 for...
\n\nSource Link\n\n
\n","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The movie chain reported that its free cash flow (FCF) for the quarter was negative $329.8 million. That is not good for AMC stock, at least in the near term.AMC Entertainment still has a lot of net debt. For example, in Q1, it paid $82 million in interest expenses. Although this is down from $151.5 million a year ago, the problem is AMC Entertainment still has gross debt of $5.522 billion. After cash and cash equivalents of $1.165 billion, its net debt is $3.84 billion. In the long run, the only real way that this is going to decline is through generating positive FCF. If AMC sells equity to new shareholders, it can reduce interest expenses and debt levels. But that would substantially dilute existing shareholders, which would automatically push the stock lower.Other than that, these levels can’t fall without AMC generating positive FCF. This is the only way for the company to cut its debt and interest expenses without diluting shareholders.AMC’s Prospects Going ForwardAnalysts are increasingly positive about AMC’s prospects. However, the average analyst surveyed by Refinitiv on Yahoo! Finance has an estimate for earnings per share (EPS) of negative $1 per share versus negative $2.66 last year. Moreover, for 2023, the average of 8 analysts is still negative earnings of negative 56 cents. In other words, it might not be until 2024 before the company starts generating positive free cash flow. And that is only if there is not a severe recession on the horizon. All bets are off if there is a period of slump in consumer demand and spending. This is likely to spill over into people’s budgets for entertainment, which could slow AMC’s return to profitability. That means it could still take several years for the company to reduce its debt and interest expenses. Moreover, the average price target of 7 analysts covered by Refinitiv is $9.95 per share. That is about $2 below the stock’s present price as of May 14.In addition, analysts have recently been dramatically lowering their targets. For example, as of Apr. 1, the average price target was over $29.40 per share according to Seeking Alpha. But now it’s at $9.55.In other words, many analysts have become disillusioned with the progress of the company, especially since its Q1 earnings were released.Where This Leaves Investors in AMC StockThe truth is that the market will always discount the future prospects of a company. For example, let’s assume AMC can produce positive free cash flow by the end of next year when revenue is forecast to hit $5.26 billion. If its FCF margin reaches 5% of revenue, AMC will generate $263 million in FCF during 2023 or shortly thereafter on a last 12 months basis. Here is how this affects the valuation of AMC stock. If we use a 3% FCF yield metric to value AMC Entertainment, the target market cap works out to $8.766 billion. This is because using a 3% FCF yield is the same as multiplying the FCF estimate by 33.3 times. So $263 million x 33.3 equals $8.766 billion in target market cap. That number is 44.6% over AMC’s present market cap of $6 billion. This shows that it won’t take much for AMC stock to rise to $17.07 per share (i.e., 44.6% over the May 14 price of $11.81 per share). This shows that with just a turnaround of its FCF with higher sales, AMC stock could move significantly higher from here.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AMC":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2031,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9023394038,"gmtCreate":1652862652624,"gmtModify":1676535176616,"author":{"id":"3575199303759784","authorId":"3575199303759784","name":"Andaroo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/634c9b9f18158d4a4e497249bdbe8fd5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3575199303759784","idStr":"3575199303759784"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"To the moon","listText":"To the moon","text":"To the moon","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9023394038","repostId":"1150881544","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1150881544","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1652854388,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1150881544?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-05-18 14:13","market":"us","language":"en","title":"AMC Entertainment Could Make a Turnaround When FCF Turns Positive","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1150881544","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"AMC stock could rise 45% once the company generates a 5% FCF margin on 2023 forecast salesSource: He","content":"
\n
AMC stock could rise 45% once the company generates a 5% FCF margin on 2023 forecast salesSource: Helen89 / Shutterstock.comAMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC) produced less than stellar results on May 9 for...
\n\nSource Link\n\n
\n","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; To achieve this goal through the stock market, investors can purchase index funds, individual stocks, or a combination of the two. Because index funds track indexes like the S&P 500 or Nasdaq-100, they are widely diversified and move in smaller increments. On the other hand, individual stocks have more significant potential but also more risk. Using a combination of these two methods can help investors meet their goal of becoming a millionaire by retirement.If the right stocks are chosen, a $300 a month contribution split among three stocks can be the ticket to becoming a millionaire by retirement. Of course, $300 is entirely arbitrary, and investors can find the future value of constant cash flows with the following formula:Image source: Author. F is the future value of an investment, A is an equal cash flow, i is the interest rate, and N is the number of interest periods.Using this formula, one can deduce that a $300 per month cash flow, 12% annual interest rate, and 30 years will yield more than $1 million compounded monthly.I'm sure that's enough math for many readers, so let's move on to what stocks can make this projection happen.Stock 1: An S&P 500 Index FundI know this is boring, but an S&P 500 index fund like SPY is a great portfolio foundation. It gives investors instant diversification in 500 of the largest companies in the U.S. and has returned 10.5% annually since its inception in 1957 through 2021.Because this return rate is lower than our required 12% return, the other two stocks will need to produce a higher average return -- about 12.6% per year. 12.6% over 30 years is an impressive run for a company; however, many companies have accomplished this.Microsoft and Apple had a compounded annual growth rate of 16.8% and 20.3% over the past 30 years. Admittedly, these are pretty extreme examples, but even Home Depot would meet this criterion, as it has returned 13.4% annually over the past 30 years.Individual stocks can meet this benchmark, so which ones can grow for 30 years?Stock 2: NvidiaThe premier GPU (graphics processing unit) producer Nvidia is one stock I believe can grow for 30 years. Even though Nvidia already has a $400 billion market cap, this company can easily maintain a 12% stock growth rate for 30 years.Its bread and butter product, GPUs, are being used in many products like gaming computers, data centers, and self-driving cars. With every consumer and company pursuing better performance, Nvidia's products will always be in demand as long as they stay at the industry's top.The business is growing rapidly, with earnings per share rising 103% YoY (year over year) on quarterly revenue growth of 53%. With the company developing more software applications like Nvidia AI, the omniverse (Nvidia's version of the metaverse), and Nvidia DRIVE (Nvidia's autonomous vehicle solution), its margins will continue to rise.Nvidia may be a large company now, but its innovation and relevance in future technologies will make it a stock that can deliver massive shareholder returns over the next 30 years.Stock 3: The Trade DeskAdvertising has been around since ancient times, so there's little chance it will fade away within the next 30 years. However, the medium in which it's delivered likely will. Linear TV has dominated since its invention, but with the rising of streaming, advertisers can now choose a targeted audience instead of the broad public.The Trade Desk is one of the companies leading this charge, and it also has a strong presence in other forms of online advertising. In 2019, the IDC (International Data Corporation) projected around $750 billion in global advertising spending, and The Trade Desk believes it can capture a large portion of that. By using third-party, first-party, and proprietary in-house data, The Trade Desk believes its data management platform can target customers accurately while maintaining customer privacy.The Trade Desk is already a successful company, with an adjusted Q1 EBITDA margin of 38% on revenue of $315 million (which grew 43% YoY). Its massive market opportunity and profitability will allow The Trade Desk to maintain its leadership status in a significant and growing digital advertising industry.Along with an S&P 500 index fund, these two companies can make an investor a millionaire in 30 years with a mere $300 a month. However, investors cannot get spooked and sell during difficult market conditions like those we are experiencing now. As long as the company's thesis is still on track, investors need to be committed to the $300 per month in good times and bad. The key is consistency and patience, two traits that are easier said than done. However, if an investor can master these traits, the rewards will be fantastic.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TTD":0.9,".SPX":0.6,"NVDA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2312,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"defaultTab":"posts","isTTM":true}
