Pressure on some of the globe’s largest technology companies sent the Nasdaq Composite down 1.9% to 13,633.50 for its worst day since March.Apple, the largest publicly traded company in the U.S., fell 3.5%. Google-parent Alphabet lost 1.6%, Facebook shed 1.3% and electric car maker Tesla dropped 1.7%. Investors did not spare the market’s chipmakers, with Nvidia and Intel losing 3.3% and 0.6%, respectively.The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day in the green thanks to strong performance in Dow Inc and Caterpillar. The 30-stock benchmark closed 19.8 points, or 0.1%, higher to 34,133.03 after dropping more than 300 points at one point Tuesday.Reasons for the downward pressure varied, but strategists cited a mix of concerns about rising inflation, fears the Federal Reserve may have to taper monetary stimulus earlier than telegraphed, and the potential for tax increases in the months ahead.U.S. equities hit their lows of the day following Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’scomments that interest ratesmay have to rise somewhat to keep economy from overheating.Evercore ISI strategist Dennis DeBusschere wrote that while Tuesday’s modest move in rates may not be a loud siren that investors are worried about the Fed, he nonetheless believes taper fears are playing a role.“Best we can tell supply concerns are a major issue for investors and inflation / inflation expectations are becoming a headwind,” he wrote in an email. “Although Fed futures are pricing in a much faster pace of rate hikes vs what the Fed wants...that is not the story today. AT&amp;T: High dividends are calling</b></h2><p>AT&amp;T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the <b>S&amp;P 500</b> index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.</p><p>Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.</p><p>All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.</p><p>The biggest concern about AT&amp;T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.</p><h2><b>2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarter</b></h2><p>W.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.</p><p>The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.</p><p>It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b9522ac8783b80e9beb8eb160a591309\" tg-width=\"720\" tg-height=\"486\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\">Data by YCharts.</p><h2><b>3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignore</b></h2><p>Sabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy&nbsp;dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.</p><p>Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.</p><p>So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.</p><p>The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.</p><h2><b>4. Williams Companies: A boon to investors</b></h2><p>Williams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's dividend, which offers a current yield of 6.73% is enticing. The company has raised its dividend the past five years.</p><p>The company delivers 30% of the country's natural gas through its more than 30,000 miles of pipelines. Last year was a difficult <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> for oil and gas companies, with oil and natural gas prices down, but Williams Companies still improved its numbers over 2019 by reducing capital expenditures. Its adjusted EBITDA of $5.1 million was up 2% year over year, while its adjusted funds from operations of $3.6 million were up 1% year over year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.</p><p>The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.</p><h2><b>5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank on</b></h2><p>TFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.</p><p>In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.</p><p>The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.</p><h2><b>Making the best of a good situation</b></h2><p>All five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. However, of the quintet, W.P. AT&T: High dividends are callingAT&T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the S&P 500 index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.The biggest concern about AT&T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarterW.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.Data by YCharts.3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignoreSabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.4. Williams Companies: A boon to investorsWilliams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's dividend, which offers a current yield of 6.73% is enticing. The company has raised its dividend the past five years.The company delivers 30% of the country's natural gas through its more than 30,000 miles of pipelines. Last year was a difficult one for oil and gas companies, with oil and natural gas prices down, but Williams Companies still improved its numbers over 2019 by reducing capital expenditures. Its adjusted EBITDA of $5.1 million was up 2% year over year, while its adjusted funds from operations of $3.6 million were up 1% year over year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank onTFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.Making the best of a good situationAll five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. However, of the quintet, W.P. In my view, the bar was set high enough. Bullishness would most likely be triggered, if at all, by (1) reinstatement of guidance and/or (2) lavish cash return to shareholders, in the form of higher dividends or share repurchases.</p>\n<p>Yes, Apple provided partial guidance for fiscal third quarter, and both the dividend and buyback programs were boosted. But what impressed the most, in my opinion, was the extent of&nbsp;Apple's Q2 beat.</p>\n<p>The company's performance bordered \"unbelievable,\" as Morgan Stanley's analyst pointed out during the conference call. With a historic earnings smasher, Apple made sure to leave no room for post-earnings bearishness.</p>\n<p><b>Earnings crusher</b></p>\n<p>Analyzing Apple's results was relatively easy this time. Virtually all metrics climbed substantially YOY – from total company and per-segment revenues to margins, earnings and cash flow. There was virtually no bad news to speak of.</p>\n<p>Below are the highlights of Apple's results, delivered on April 28. To the best of my knowledge, none of the figures below are typos, as much as they might seem to be.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8ca500cb00a59b1562e20ea213f11050\" tg-width=\"595\" tg-height=\"189\"><span>Source: DM Martins Research, data from company report</span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><b>iPhone</b>&nbsp;growth of 66%, supported primarily by the strong performance of the Pro and Pro Max models;</li>\n <li><b>iPad</b>&nbsp;growth of 79%, which compares favorably to Microsoft's (MSFT) 12% increase in Surface revenues and the broad industry's&nbsp;projected&nbsp;double-digit decline in tablet unit sales in first calendar quarter;</li>\n <li><b>Mac</b>&nbsp;growth of 70%, a result of (1) a strong lineup of M1-equipped devices and (2) stay-at-home trends still playing a crucial role in global markets, particularly Europe;</li>\n <li><b>Services</b>&nbsp;growth of 27% that, contrary to popular belief, accelerated compared to pre-pandemic levels;</li>\n <li><b>Greater China</b>&nbsp;growth of 87%, due in part to the country being ahead in the COVID-19 cycle, definitely turning this market from a 2015-2020 loser into a winner over the past six months;</li>\n <li><b>Gross margin</b>&nbsp;expansion of over four percentage points due to cost savings and favorable mix;</li>\n <li><b>Op margin</b>&nbsp;expansion of more than eight percentage points due to gross margin increase and gains of scale.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>To be fair, a few one-off factors may have helped to turn an otherwise strong second quarter into a record-shattering one. The odd timing in the launch of the iPhone 12 in 2020 created a revenue gap in the holiday period that is still being smoothed out today. Also, COVID-19 has lasted longer than some may have wished in parts of the world, extending the stay-at-home tailwinds.</p>\n<p><b>Stock is cheap again</b></p>\n<p>With impressive results under the belt, Apple climbed modestly after the closing bell. Between the regular and after-hours trading sessions, the stock gained about 1.5%, pushing shares closer to their all-time high of $143.</p>\n<p>Despite the small earnings day gains, Apple exits this season a more affordable stock. The math is fairly simple:</p>\n<ol>\n <li>The monstrous 42-cent Q2 EPS beat alone should push fiscal 2021 consensus higher, to $4.87;</li>\n <li>Guidance for Q3 was incomplete, but I conservatively estimate that it points at another 20-cent gap to consensus, at least. Both quarters combined add up to new fiscal 2021 EPS expectations of about $5.10.</li>\n</ol>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5e4cd98b9d528f253ba92a277e6dab5f\" tg-width=\"635\" tg-height=\"436\"><span>Data by YCharts</span></p>\n<p>Apple's after-hours share price of $136 divided by a conservative $5.10 in fiscal 2021 EPS suggests a current-year P/E of only 26.8x. This is roughly in line with AAPL's pre-pandemic valuation multiple, and lower than those of tech peers whose stocks are sometimes considered \"value,\" like Facebook (FB) and Alphabet (GOOG)(NASDAQ:GOOGL). With a historic earnings smasher, Apple made sure to leave no room for post-earnings bearishness.\nEarnings crusher\nAnalyzing Apple's results was relatively easy this time. Virtually all metrics climbed substantially YOY – from total company and per-segment revenues to margins, earnings and cash flow. There was virtually no bad news to speak of.\nBelow are the highlights of Apple's results, delivered on April 28. To the best of my knowledge, none of the figures below are typos, as much as they might seem to be.\nSource: DM Martins Research, data from company report\n\niPhone growth of 66%, supported primarily by the strong performance of the Pro and Pro Max models;\niPad growth of 79%, which compares favorably to Microsoft's (MSFT) 12% increase in Surface revenues and the broad industry's projected double-digit decline in tablet unit sales in first calendar quarter;\nMac growth of 70%, a result of (1) a strong lineup of M1-equipped devices and (2) stay-at-home trends still playing a crucial role in global markets, particularly Europe;\nServices growth of 27% that, contrary to popular belief, accelerated compared to pre-pandemic levels;\nGreater China growth of 87%, due in part to the country being ahead in the COVID-19 cycle, definitely turning this market from a 2015-2020 loser into a winner over the past six months;\nGross margin expansion of over four percentage points due to cost savings and favorable mix;\nOp margin expansion of more than eight percentage points due to gross margin increase and gains of scale.\n\nTo be fair, a few one-off factors may have helped to turn an otherwise strong second quarter into a record-shattering one. The odd timing in the launch of the iPhone 12 in 2020 created a revenue gap in the holiday period that is still being smoothed out today. Also, COVID-19 has lasted longer than some may have wished in parts of the world, extending the stay-at-home tailwinds.\nStock is cheap again\nWith impressive results under the belt, Apple climbed modestly after the closing bell. Between the regular and after-hours trading sessions, the stock gained about 1.5%, pushing shares closer to their all-time high of $143.\nDespite the small earnings day gains, Apple exits this season a more affordable stock. The math is fairly simple:\n\nThe monstrous 42-cent Q2 EPS beat alone should push fiscal 2021 consensus higher, to $4.87;\nGuidance for Q3 was incomplete, but I conservatively estimate that it points at another 20-cent gap to consensus, at least. Both quarters combined add up to new fiscal 2021 EPS expectations of about $5.10.\n\nData by YCharts\nApple's after-hours share price of $136 divided by a conservative $5.10 in fiscal 2021 EPS suggests a current-year P/E of only 26.8x. This is roughly in line with AAPL's pre-pandemic valuation multiple, and lower than those of tech peers whose stocks are sometimes considered \"value,\" like Facebook (FB) and Alphabet (GOOG)(NASDAQ:GOOGL).
