The programmable networking device helps hyperscale customers reduce overhead and free up performance for CPUs.</p>\n<p>\"There is a need for silicon solutions that act as a control point across the cloud infrastructure to accelerate that overhead portion - the infrastructure functions. The company says it's collaboration with the majority of hyperscalers, Intel is already the IPU market leader with its&nbsp;Xeon-D, FPGA, and Ethernet components.</p>\n<p>The first FPGA-based Intel IPU platforms are already deployed at multiple cloud service providers.
