My guess is commodities as an asset class fell recently in response to the strengthening USD, which most commodities are traded in;this reduces the buying power of foreign countries, so the market is factoring in a potential reduction in demand. 

Ultimately, as more countries win the battle against COVID, resources will be turned towards the race to rebuild economies, and commodities will be a knight in shining armour here. ?
