Nvidia's chief Jensen Huang feels safe relying on Taiwan for chips
Nvidia $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ CEO Jensen Huang feels "perfectly safe" about relying on chip giant Taiwan for its manufacturing needs, Reuters reported.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) produces chips designed by Nvidia and Huang noted that NVDA's next generation of products would also be made by (TSM), but noted that the company will continue to diversify.
Certain companies had shown concerns about potential risks due to tensions between China and Taiwan.
"When I was here, in all of our supply chain discussions, we feel perfectly safe," said Huang when asked about the political risk of the world reliance on Taiwan for chips, according to the report.
Nvidia was diversified via multiple fabs at TSM and Huang noted that the company also planned to source from the TSM fab in Arizona.
Huang also intends to meet with executives from TSM and Apple's supplier Foxconn Technology.
The Nvidia CEO was also reportedly planning to visit China, however it has not been decided yet, according to the Reuters report.
