The real threat to $Walt Disney(DIS)$ here isn't so much their politics, as it is their long over-reliance on short-termist, aggressively formulaic and uncreative entertainment.
Disney prioritised profit over high quality entertainment for too long. Now it is slowly coming back to bite them in the balance sheet. They have tarnished their company's brand image and have little cash left to squeeze out of over-exploited avenues such as Pixar and Marvel. Disney has treated consumers like idiots for decades now, but a growing number of us are now unentertained and just shrug at their new releases.
Gone is the good old Disney and many analysts already realise it. It will take many years of hard work to rebuild the image they have destroyed. Meanwhile, Disney is losing market ground to newer entertainment companies that are actually willing to take risks and be innovative and entertaining.
In this digital age of widespread entertainment, Disney needs to have more than just a high profile past that ended in the 90s, in order to stay afloat.
