Similarity Between OCBC and UOB. Earnings Result Similar?

$OVERSEA-CHINESE BANKING CORP(O39.SI)$ will be reporting their earnings on 04 Aug 2023, fellow Singapore Bank, UOB has just announced a stellar earnings.

I have gone on to check on how OCBC stock have been doing, it seem like there are some similarity from using ADX (Average Directional Index).

Similar to UOB, OCBC ADX just touch 20 which indicate a developing trend and +DI is above -DI by a wide margin which suggest a strong bullish developing trend.

I would consider to enter OCBC before its earnings.

This is how $UNITED OVERSEAS BANK LIMITED(U11.SI)$ ADX look like. ADX just touch 20 and in developing trend, +DI suggest strong bullish upside.

Appreciate if you could share your thoughts in the comment section whether you think OCBC earnings will be as stellar as UOB?

@TigerStars @Daily_Discussion @TigerWire appreciate if you could feature this article so that fellow tiger would benefit from my investing and trading thoughts.

Thanks for sharing. OCBC, UOB and DBS to me are still value buys for long term investment as long as their PE stays between 10-11 with a consistent dividend of about 5%. I started accumulating OCBC at $4, $9, $11, $12 price range. For DBS and UOB, I accumulated since <$20. In the near term, I tend to think UOB would likely to have higher yields this year since they have aggressively acquired another global bank’s profitable retail banking portfolio from Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand. This inorganic growth should give UOB an immediate boast on earnings on its competitions for the current fiscal year. Anyway, in my opinion, all these 3 bank counters are good nest eggs investment to consider.

OCBC and UOB both have a strong presence in Southeast Asia, with branches and subsidiaries in many countries in the region.

OCBC has a larger presence in China than UOB. OCBC has over 50 branches in China, while UOB only has a few branches in the country.

OCBC may still lag behind DBS
I prefer to buy into DBS rather than UOB or OCBC at this moment
