Silicon Motion Rejects MaxLinear's Termination of Merger

Silicon Motion Technology said MaxLinear's termination of the companies' planned merger is invalid, setting up a fight between the two chipmakers over a deal that recently won approval from Chinese regulators."MaxLinear's eleventh-hour purported termination of its merger agreement with Silicon Motion is invalid and reflects a repudiation of MaxLinear's obligations rather than any failure of Silicon Motion's conditions to closing," Silicon Motion said.
