Trade Recap 15 August
@TigerOptions:Not a good start for the market today with the $Invesco QQQ Trust-ETF(QQQ)$ and $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ flushing down from the market open.[Duh] With both indexes weakening, I decided to trade $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ which recently has bearish news. Source: TradingView Trade 1 🟢 TSLA 237.5 PUT I bought in $TSLA 20230825 237.5 PUT$(1st green arrow) when I saw the price falling below the 1 min opening range. Sold half at around 10%+ profit and was waiting for a bigger move down. It did go lower but I only sold the other half when the price bounces back strongly. Source: Tiger Brokers Trade 2 🔴 TSLA 237.5 CALL When the price continues to move higher after I sold my puts, I bought $TSLA 20230825 237.5 CALL$(2nd green arrow) in hopes of a V-shape recovery which happens often in Tesla stock. Not today, however, as the price gets rejected and hits my stop-loss. [Cry] Trade 3 🟢 “I never argue with the tape.” - Jesse Livermore Image The bearish sentiment seems to be strong today, so I bought $TSLA 20230825 235.0 PUT$(3rd green arrow) to follow the trend. I took profits when I see the price consolidating and not moving much. Source: Tiger Brokers Overall, a pretty green day for me and I’m grateful for what the market has given me. One key lesson today is to cut my losses short and let my winners run a bit longer. Don’t fight the trend. Have you learned something from my post?
