Yesterday, we saw the first time all 3 indexes are in the Green after five sessions. S&P 500 gained 0.40% with the yield on 30-year Treasury bonds closed at 4.666%, passing 4.6% for the first time since 2011. The 10-year yield, which dropped on 22 Sep 2023, Friday afternoon, rebounded to close above 4.5% for the first time since 2007. How would the S&P 500 close today (26 Sep 2023), which stocks would have potential today or can some stocks continue their run from yesterday (25 Sep 2023)? S&P 500 Biggest Gains Stocks (25 Sep 2023) I find these 2 stocks which could have potential today, $Chevron(CVX)$ has umped 1.5% after it said it would increase its Venezuelan oil output by 65,000 barrels per day by the end of 2024. This would be beneficial at this point to take advantage of the rise in crude oil price, which I believe should be hitting $100 soon. Another stocks would be $EOG Resources(EOG)$ which is one of the biggest gains on 25 Sep 2023, I believe it would continue its run today on the back of rising energy prices. S&P 500 Biggest Losses Stocks (25 Sep 2023) Here are one stock which need to be cautious, $Warner Bros. Discovery(WBD)$, after the tentative agreement to stop Hollywood writers strike, streaming stocks is thought to be favorable. End up WBD share price fell by more than 3%, it look like this strike resolution might not favor companies like WBD or $Walt Disney(DIS)$ . Walt Disney actually fell by 0.3% after the tentative agreement to end the five-month writers’ strike. Summary Based on what happened yesterday (25 September 2023), we might see a repeat of early trading in the RED with a recovery only in the afternoon trading. Stocks in the energy and consumer based sectors is worth monitoring and look at.
