Exxon To Buy Shale Rival Pioneer For Nearly $60 Billion In Stock

Exxon Mobil said Wednesday it agreed to acquire Pioneer Natural Resources in an all-stock transaction valued at $59.5B, or $253/share, based on Exxon's closing price on October 5.Under the deal terms, Pioneer shareholders will receive 2.3234 Exxon shares for each Pioneer share at closing.The implied total enterprise value of the transaction, including net debt, is ~$64.5B.
