Faraday Future has been falling to date this week on poor investor sentiments after initial market excitement subsided over its recently announced measures to protect its shareholders and improve its profitability and sustainabilit, as worries return whether the company will be able to successfully follow through in executing the measures and recuperate from its financial distress.

As Faraday Future approaches 20 Nov when it is set to release its latest quarterly earnings, I expect even higher volatility in its stock trading, as the market braces for underwhelming results and speculations build on surprises.

With its stock currently trading near its historic low, $Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc.(FFIE)$ 's risk-return is becoming increasingly attractive, assuming that the company's management is able to live up to their commitment and turn the company around.

Across the Pacific Ocean, $XPeng Inc.(XPEV)$  has been rising after encouraging announcements from its Tech Day 2023, as the electric vehicle startup releases its bold plan to make semi-autonomous driving technology available cross China by the end of next year. While the company plans to accelerate its pace of self-driving tecchnology development to close the gap with $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ and set itself apart from its peers the likes of $NIO Inc.(NIO)$ and $Rivian Automotive, Inc.(RIVN)$ , I believe that the prevailing price war in the EV market will sink all ships, or for that matter, all cars, and lead to a lose-lose situation where all EV makers have to make do with lower margins. Hence, even though I'm optimistic of the long-term prospects of the EV industry amidst rising fuel prices, growing awareness of global climate change and tightening of emission controls, I'm not as optimistic of the short-term profitabiity of the EV players.
