I've held $Alphabet(GOOGL)$ since before its stock split. Back then, I was convinced that Google was worth $3k (equivalent to $150 today).

Finally, after more than a year, we're approaching my target price. A lot has changed since then. AI has emerged. Markets have fully reopened. War happened. And we've finally gotten through the rate hikes.

I had believed that I'll see $150 before 2023 ends. But the cynics aren't convinced. "Gemini is a sham!" "Google Play store is dead!" "Recession is coming! Ads are dead!" I think it might be a bit longer still before I see the mythical $150.

But even if Google hits $150, what next? Does it still hold a future that excites growth? $Microsoft(MSFT)$  has deservedly had its valuation raised significantly since its aggressive push into AI, and with the continued release of AI-integrated products, don't expect to see the last of Microsoft. But is it enough to topple Google Search? I doubt it. In fact, I think we're forecasting based on the wrong assumptions. AI might erode Google search, but it won't topple it. In fact, I think there'll be a future where both products coexist. The bigger question is: which AI business model will be the most profitable?

I think a company that has been quietly overlooked thus far is $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ . By far the market leader for cloud computing, instead of expending huge costs to build up AI capabilities, it already owns a platform ripe for hosting and earning from AI implementations. As AWS themselves roll out their own AI products and provide integration with other AI products, this ecosystem will only grow. AWS latest operating profit margin is an impressive 30% in its latest quarter (2023 Q3). Even if it's eroded to 20%, that is still a significant margin assuming the growth expected from the expansion of AI offerings.

Meanwhile, looking forward to cash out on my Google cash cow. It's been an amazing journey. I just hope I don't miss the boat [Facepalm]  [Miser]

I believe that while Google may reach the target price of $150, there are other companies like Amazon that are overlooked but have potential for growth in the AI industry.
