So, what is a short squeeze?

With reference to the stock market, a short squeeze is a situation in which the price of a stock rises to such an extent that investors who have sold shorts have no choice but to purchase the stock in order to limit their losses, causing the price to rise further. 

This 'fake rise' causes many FOMO moments as greedy investors jump on the bandwagon, hoping to make quick bucks, but end up being trapped and losing loads instead. 

In other words, the 'quick rise' you guys saw in crypto stocks today are empty fluff, not backed by any sound financials of these companies.
