China's Qingming Travel Spending Soars, Watch Global X China Consumer Brand ETF (2806)

[For Hong Kong Investors Only] After the Ching Ming Festival holiday in the Mainland, both the number of tourists and the amount of money spent in the Mainland exceeded the pre-epidemic levels, indicating a rebound in the tourism and consumer goods sectors. For investors, this also represents a potential opportunity to invest in the consumer goods sector.

Tourist arrivals during the Mainland's Ching Ming Festival holiday reached 119 million, an increase of 11.5% over the same period in 2019. Spending amounted to RMB 539.5 billion, up 12.7% from the same period in 2019.

Meanwhile, according to the statistics of the State Administration of Immigration, the border checkpoints across the country ensured a total of 5.189 million entry and exit of Chinese and foreigners during the Qingming period, of which 2.267 million were Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents, a 35.9% increase over the same period last year.

In addition, the demand for short-haul village tours has also increased significantly, with the number of orders for village tours surging by nearly 2.4 times year-on-year, with people aged between 18 and 25 accounting for more than 20% of the total.

These figures show that the Mainland's tourism and consumer industries are recovering and demand for travel and consumer activities is growing.

The Global X China Consumer Brand ETF (2806) tracks the performance of China's consumer sector, including leading companies such as retailers, food and beverage producers, home appliance manufacturers and EV makers, offering investment opportunities to benefit from the growth of China's massive consumer market.
