Will they bring cheers tonight?

$Netflix(NFLX)$   will be releasing its latest quarterly earnings results tonight after the US market closes. I would expect the company to celebrate further growth in revenue from its crackdown on password sharing and its ad-supported subscription plans. Old habits die hard since the onset of the COVID pandemic, when many avoided theatre halls and have grown used to watching movies anytime from the comforts of their homes. The rise of online streaming services by Netflix and its formidable peers Amazon and Disney, and their growing popularities have added to the woes of AMC, whose profits in the fourth quarter of last year had already fallen short of market expectations. With rising competition from the online streaming service providers, $AMC Entertainment(AMC)$  has better quickly reinvent itself to stay competitive and remain relevant post pandemic, as the pandemic has changed forever the way many people would watch movies.

Semiconductor foundry leader $Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$   will also be posting its latest earnings results on 18 April. Counting Apple and $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$  among its biggest customers, TSMC manufactures the most advanced semiconductor chips for the iPhone maker and artificial intelligence chip designer. The proliferation of AI applications and the corresponding rising demands for various semiconductor chips to drive the AI engines are propelling growth for TSMC and Nvidia s well as the overall semiconductor industry $Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares(SOXL)$ . Hopefully, TSMC, Nvidia and SOXL will help to bring cheers to the broad market that has been gloomy lately, and help to drive the technology sector to greater heights.
