ICHEON, South Korea -- The head of SK Hynix has vowed to continue expanding output of memory chips used in artificial intelligence applications, predicting global demand will increase sharply over the long term.

CEO Kwak Noh-jung said the world's second-largest memory chipmaker will be able to produce many more high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips after completing new fabrication and advanced packaging facilities in South Korea and the U.S.
