$STI ETF(ES3.SI)$  STI ETF Poised for Continued Growth Until Leadership Change

The Straits Times Index (STI) ETF, a popular exchange-traded fund tracking Singapore's benchmark index, has been on a positive trajectory in 2024. Year-to-date, the STI ETF boasts a return of 3.25%, and just recently achieved a new high of 3,370. This momentum is expected to continue in the coming days leading up to the 15th of May, when Singapore welcomes its new prime minister.

Leadership Change and Market Optimism

Leadership transitions can often bring a wave of optimism to the markets. Investors may anticipate increased spending, policy changes, or a general feel-good sentiment that can buoy stock prices. This, coupled with the STI's strong performance thus far in 2024, suggests a potentially lucrative window for investors in the STI ETF.

When you invest in an ETF, you own a stake of the fund, not the underlying securities. As ETFs pool together money from many investors, investing in an ETF is a way to purchase the securities you want (and reap the potential benefits) at a lower capital cost.

ETFs also offer diversification, high liquidity and variety. You can select ETFs that invest in asset classes ranging from stocks, to bonds and commodities.
