INTC: STILL HUGE POTENTIAL TO BUY!

$Intel(INTC)$ has always had lower power/lower performance products available; they just don't get much press. It is not generally understood, but for a small increment in performance you pay a large increment in power.

Intel has held the single thread performance crown for some time now and has achieved that by running product at very high power levels.

As Intel's "baseline" performance approaches the competition it is less important for them to operate in the higher power regime in order to get high performance.

Another factor is the Intel processes have been architected for higher power and higher performance than TSMC, who optimized their processes for low power cell phones. The TSMC variant used by the INTC PV and AMD was delayed quite a bit as TSMC figured out how to build a high performance process similar to what Intel has done for years.

All indications are Intel_14A is the first Intel process with a more balanced approach.  It is expected that Intel_20A/18A is still architected to  allow higher power/higher performance optimizations.[Smart][Smart][Smart]
