$亚马逊(AMZN)$ I was reading an article about holders of Amazon stock. According to the article 63% of Amazon stock is held by institutional investors. This somewhat explains why there is low volume since when you combine long-term investors who have tendency hold on to their shares + institutional investors + option traders this equates typically to low volume. So more than anything else, Amazon's volume/price is based on news from the company such as Earnings Report. Just my thoughts.
