Wall Street's main stock indexes closed higher on Tuesday (July 2), boosted by gains in Tesla and megacap growth stocks, but volumes were thin ahead of the July Fourth holiday and the closely watched release of June nonfarm payrolls on Friday.

Regarding the options market, a total volume of 36,995,344 contracts was traded, down 3% from the previous trading day.

$Amazon(AMZN)$ shares hit an all-time high on Tuesday, adding to a recent breakout to trade above 200. Earlier in the day, Mizuho analyst said the tech giant's cloud business is near an AI "inflection point." On Friday, Amazon CEO Jassy will celebrate the third Anniversary of his ascension to the top jop.

$Rivian(RIVN)$ shares rallied almost 7% on Tuesday, after the electric-vehicle maker reported quarterly deliveries data that beat expectations by a record margin.

The California-based company said it delivered 13,790 vehicles during the second quarter, up 9.1% from the same period a year earlier. That beat the FactSet deliveries consensus of 12,000 EVs. The margin of the beat — 14.9% — was the most since the data was reported, according to FactSet data.

$Tesla(TSLA)$ shares jumped more than 10% on Tuesday after the electric vehicle giant reported quarterly vehicle deliveries that beat Wall Street expectations.

The EV maker delivered 443,956 vehicles during the second quarter, versus an analyst consensus estimate of 439,302, per Bloomberg data.
