Some Differentiators In PLTR
I was talking today about some differentiators in $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ .
I brought up Security Markings. It is the concept that the data is secured, not the object it is stored within. This means security markings follow the data throughout the system, even the derivatives of it, until you go through a governed reclassification process. This takes our first principles approach from Gotham, working in the DoD space, and applies them to Enterprise.
In other DB/DW solutions, you normally apply security on the object, row, or column. Each time you create a new object or process the data, you have to apply security again. This leaves a gap in governance with each new object, and as you create multiple derivatives of it for processing or consumption, you have to reevaluate and hopefully reapply the appropriate security. You can do it, but it is a slow, human-centric process prone to accidental errors.
With Foundry having this security and data lineage play together, it gives you next-level abilities to move quickly while still being secure.
Governance is embedded at the core of the PalantirTech platforms, not bolted on.
