Can DB really get out of the trough? I don't think so. When the global financial crisis erupted in 2008, Deutsche Bank began to acquire Postbank, which has millions of customers, but IT never fully integrated and IT system failures during the merger led to massive customer withdrawals and automatic account lockouts. The resulting investor lawsuit required Deutsche Bank to set aside €1.3bn in reserves. In addition, as the main driver of revenue, FIC sales and trading business revenue declined about 3% year on year, also lagging behind the average growth rate of about 5% on Wall Street airlines.
