Briefly introduce yourself, share your personal investment growth experience, and how you made your first bucket of gold in the market? Hi, I am Terry Tan, a 33-year-old father of 3 kids. I always believe Financial Freedom can only be achieved through investment, be it buying a house, buying a stock/ETF or even just putting money into a fixed deposit with banks. After trying out many types of investments (US stocks, Stocks Options, SG stocks, REITs, Crypto, Fixed Deposits) and CFD trading, I lost money in all except for my investments in US Stocks and US Stocks Options. Although I am still on my way of making my first bucket of gold, I believe my US Stocks and Options Investment will play a very important role in helping me to achieve that goal! 2. From your trading share orders, it seems that you mainly trade options. Why did you choose options as your main trading category? The answer is very simple, Options is wonderful! Imagine you can earn money while waiting for your favorite stocks or ETF to fall to your acceptable entry price! We all should be paid for waiting because TIME IS MONEY! I learnt about the Cash Flow Options Strategy from a Value Investing Masterclass conducted by my master Cayden Chang, he taught us the best and safest way to generate investment income through collecting Monthly Options Premium. 3. What is the most impressive investment experience you have had? The most impressive investment experience I had was when my Monthly Premium exceeds my Monthly Salary after just 1 year of investment. It sounds impossible, but it is actually achievable if you are disciplined enough. Trust yourself in the way that works, it will eventually work for you! 4. How do you select stocks and control risks? I look at qualitative criteria (Company with huge moat, brand loyalty & etc) and quantitative criteria (Financial Ratios) of a company and use Discounting Cash Flow method and 30% Margin of Safety to find undervalued stocks (stock price below my calculated intrinsic value) and only sell put options on those good stocks. Or I will simply sell put options on ETF such as $Invesco QQQ Trust-ETF(QQQ)$ , $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ , $iShares Semiconductor ETF(SOXX)$ or their 3X ETF TQQQ, UPRO, SOXL because it’s less risky to hold a bunch of stocks instead of putting all my eggs in one basket. 5. What is your follow-up trading plan? What are the key directions you pay attention to? Be patient and conservative. After testing out Aggressive, Moderate and Conservative approaches, my Conservative approach ends up giving me the best ROI % and a good night sleep without worry. For example, I will only sell cash covered put options when the market is down significantly (My indicator: S&P 500 down by 1.5% or more a day) and only sell covered call options when the market is up significantly (My indicator: S&P 500 up by 1.5% or more a day) 6. What would you like to tell your followers? 65% ROR with 93% Win Rate, what works for me will surely work for you! Remember to follow Terry Tan and subscribe to his Trade Feed account!
