Tesla has been collection training data from 400K FSD enabled vehicles operating on any road in the US. Tesla owners have been performing the safety driver function for free. When they intervene because FSD is not behaving as they expected it to Tesla automatically gets all of the vehicle and camera data as well as a voice annotation from the driver.
That’s why FSD was deployed as a Level 2 system. To accelerate its deployment as a Level 4 system anywhere in the US, not in just a few geofenced metro areas. A brilliant strategy that is misunderstood even by smart people like you.
