Tesla needs 514,925 sales in Q4 to match last year's total. This means they’ll need to increase sales by 11.2% this quarter, compared to the 462,890 units delivered in Q3 2024, which was announced today.
Q4 is typically Tesla's strongest quarter of the year. Looking at the last four years, the Q4 increase over Q3 has always been higher than 11.2%, but the gains have been shrinking. In 2023, the increase was just 11.4%.
• 29.4% in 2020
• 27.9% in 2021
• 17.9% in 2022
• 11.4% in 2023
In other words, Q4 is going to be challenging, but let’s see how it plays out.
