$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ will host its Robotaxi event on 10 Oct, and their CEO Elon Musk will unveil Tesla’s “robotaxi” on 10 October instead of 08 August, as originally planned. The “robotaxi” is supposed to be America’s first fully autonomous vehicle, meaning it can drive without human help.

So as we know that Tesla already has a product called “self-driving mode and that can reduce our overall workload as a driver.” However, the driver must watch the road and hands close to the steering wheel.

“Game Changing” Autonomous Technology To Be Expected?

As Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives said in a report that "Tesla is the most undervalued AI name in the market and we expect Musk & Co. to unveil some 'game changing' autonomous technology at the (Robotaxi) event,"

The “robotaxi” will be based on very advanced artificial intelligence. It will also rely on data Tesla has gathered from cameras and software, which has tracked the millions of miles of highways and roads Tesla owners have traveled over recent years. This driving data probably covers every road in America, even small ones.

One aspect of “robotaxi” operation is reacting to unexpected events. This could be a child darting into the street, for example. So can Tesla really show us a truly self-driving car at the event?

If it does, it will be as large a leap in car technology as in the auto industry’s history. This is going to create a revolution on how driver relate to their cars and the road they drive on, this will basically change the relationship no matter where they are driving and how difficult the driver would be navigating the journey.

So this is what I think Tesla stock price could behave if we really see the “robotaxi” launch, showing the functions of the robotaxi to have been engineer to completely self-driving, then this shall bring Tesla to one of the leading AI companies in the world.

That might also explain why Tesla is valued so much higher than other global EV car makers.

How The Market Perceive Tesla Stock Price Now

With the market anticipating that we might see a robotaxi with full self-driving functions, and this can be seen from the recent stock price performance.

Based on what we see from one week multi-timeframe movement, it is showing signal that Tesla has a strong uptrend, this would mean that we could continue to see Tesla trading higher before the event.

Currently it is trading above both the short-term and long-term MA, and this would give confidence to investors.

Tesla has also given a pretty impressive price target if the robotaxi event turns out to be positive, we could be seeing Tesla going near the $310 level.

Summary

If we looked at how things are developing, I personally feel that Tesla would be showing us a higher level of self-driving, but whether it is going to be fully autonomous, I think there are still some concerns especially from regulator.

Even though technology might be able to help us to achieve that, I would think that some form of security safety feature need to be able to control remotely.
