As AMD phases out most 7000 series (it will be continued, just maybe restricted for a while), while also launching lowered binned skus as well (look at 5300 launch, etc.), the 9000 series will replace 7000 series as the main sellers for OEMs, etc. For gamers, they'll just eventually switch to 9800X3D, which given boosts to clocks and all core higher boost, will be a bigger uplift for that gaming chip than the non-X3D parts were. The refresh will happen, just in time (and with the price reductions AMD has finally capitulated to recently). There's no alternative in Intel $Intel(INTC)$ .
