In a strategic move to expand their global footprint, SATS Ltd and Sinotrans Air Freight (Sinoair) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore joint projects worldwide. The collaboration is focused on developing airfreight gateway hubs in key international markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Belgium. This agreement will enable both companies to leverage their respective networks and expertise to enhance air cargo services, particularly connecting China to cities globally. The deal was formalized in September 2024 by Bob Chi, CEO of SATS Gateway Services, and Liu Yong, Managing Director of Sinotrans Air Freight.
Additionally, the two firms are negotiating for SATS to manage a new e-commerce hub in Hangzhou, China, which is expected to be operational by 2026. This hub will play a pivotal role in supporting the fast-growing e-commerce market and enhancing global air transport capabilities. The partnership aligns with SATS’ ongoing global expansion strategy following its acquisition of Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), further strengthening its presence in Europe and North America
