Now she's pointing to analysis saying that if institutional investors allocate between 2.5% and 6.5% of portfolios to cryptocurrency, it would potentially add $200,000-$500,000 to the currency's price.</p><p>But straight-up investment return isn't the only reason to own bitcoin, she says. The currency also offers purchasing power to companies if cash deteriorates; it makes doing business easier in markets where transacting could be difficult (say, due to corrupt governments or weak ecosystems); and it's an insurance policy against confiscation of wealth (through inflation or otherwise).</p><p>Meanwhile, Wood says Square(NYSE:SQ)is a key innovator in a digital wallet space with a large and expanding global total addressable market. The company can be \"better, cheaper and faster\" at problem solving than banks, and benefits from low customer acquisition costs, she says.</p><p>Key to Square's success is its marketing strategies, she notes, including giveaways, event sponsorship and of course its presence in crypto/bitcoin, helping maintain interest from millennials. And its Cash App currently has an average revenue per user of about $41, though Wood thinks that could hit $400-$500 in 5-10 years.</p><p>Paypal/Venmo(NASDAQ:PYPL)have a huge advantage in their digital wallet ambitions through scale and international presence, she adds.
