Overview of Key Appointments to the Trump 2024 Transition Team
President-elect Donald Trump’s team has signed an agreement with the Biden White House unlocking key transition briefings and activities after a lengthy delay that stemmed, in part, from the Trump team’s concerns over a mandatory ethics agreement.
Donald Trump's 2024 transition team is composed of several members who will play key roles after Trump's re-election as President.
Here are some highlights of the main members:
Linda McMahon and Howard Lutnick have been appointed as co-chairs of the transition team. Linda McMahon previously led the Small Business Administration, and Howard Lutnick is the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald.
Susie Wiles has been selected as the White House Chief of Staff. She was a member of Trump's 2016 campaign team and will take on this role once again.
Elise Stefanik has been nominated as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
Lee Zeldin has been nominated as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. He has pledged to eliminate regulations that he believes hinder businesses and aims to restore energy independence.
Pete Hegseth has been nominated as the Secretary of Defense. He was a member of Trump's personal criminal defense team.
Kristi Noem has been nominated as the Secretary of Homeland Security.
John Ratcliffe has been nominated as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Marco Rubio has been nominated as the Secretary of State.
Tulsi Gabbard has been nominated as the Director of National Intelligence. She is a military veteran and also serves as an honorary co-chair of Trump's transition team.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been nominated as the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Doug Collins has been nominated as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
Doug Burgum has been nominated as the Secretary of the Interior and will also serve as the chair of the newly established "National Energy Council."
Chris Wright has been nominated as the Secretary of Energy.
Sean Duffy has been nominated as the Secretary of Transportation.
Howard Lutnick has also been nominated as the Secretary of Commerce.
Linda McMahon has been nominated as the Secretary of Education.
Pam Bondi has been nominated as the Attorney General.
Scott Bessent has been nominated as the Secretary of the Treasury.
Scott Turner has been nominated as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Lori Chavez-DeRemer has been nominated as the Secretary of Labor.
Brooke Rollins has been nominated as the Secretary of Agriculture.
Additionally, Michael Waltz has been chosen as the National Security Advisor. He was the first Green Beret soldier elected to the House of Representatives and is a member of the House Intelligence, Armed Services, and Foreign Affairs Committees.
Mike Huckabee has been nominated as the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, a person who has publicly supported the Israeli settlement movement.
Jay Clayton has been nominated as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. He is a former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission under Trump.
